Windows 7 is the most recent release of Microsoft Windowsthat supports both FAT and NTFS file system. Each partition created on Windows 7 should have a file system associated with it in order to store and retrieve the files stored on partitions. It is better to use NTFS file system because, it offers several advanced features like file compression, local security, file encryption etc. In order to dual-boot the computer, FAT32 file system must be created. To create the file system you need to format the hard drive. When you format the hard drive, new file system is created to store files.

Windows 7 supports MBR disk and GPT disk. MBR stores partition information in first sector of the hard disk whereas, GPT disks stores partition information in the GPT header. You can convert GPT to MBR and MBR to GPT using Windows Disk Management Utility. MBR is more convenient to use than GPT disk even though GPT disks supports larger partition size because, MBR disks have a wider range of compatibility compared to GPT disks. There are some circumstances where you may lose your essential files stored on your hard drive. Windows data recovery tool helps you to bring back files after partition table corruption in Windows 7 OS due to re-installing or upgrading the existing operating system. Laptop hard disks partitions can be accidentally deleted from Windows 7, this leads to loss of data. You can get back laptop hard drive partitions on Windows 7 using deleted partition recovery software.

Most common data loss scenarios are explained as follows:

MBR corruption: When your computer is turned on, first it completes its Power on Self Test (POST) then it scan the hard drive for MBR where the Operating System is located. Sometimes, you may come across error messages such as Operating System not found, Partition Table is invalid or Error while loading OS. These error messages are mainly due to MBR corruption. MBR corruption generally occurs due to virus attack, improper system shut down, power failures etc. When MBR get corrupted, entry for the Operating System in the MBR is destroyed resulting in loss of files

Data loss due to re-partitioning the drive: If you want to repartition the drive then you need to use shrink feature in Windows 7 Disk Management Utility. Shrinking existing partition deletes all the files and then new partition can be created. You can also repartition the drive without deleting files by using third party partitioning tools. But, sometimes error messages may arises due to human errors while repartitioning the drive resulting in loss of files

Always take backup especially while re-formatting the hard drive to avoid loss of files. If you have lost the files due to repartitioning the drive then stop using that drive immediately to avoid permanent loss of files. Because, copying or saving new files over that drive may overwrite the old files resulting in permanent data loss. Windows recovery tool can recover Windows 7 files, which have been lost from repartitioned hard drives. This software can also regain data on Windows XP and Windows Vista files from accidentally partitioned or repartitioned hard drives. The software supports file recovery on ExFAT, NTFS, NTFS5, FAT32 and FAT16 partitions. This software can restore data from hard drive on Windows OS that has been accidentally formatted using Windows Disk Management Utility or Command line Utilities. This software also has the ability to recover different types of files from accidentally deleted, missing and inaccessible partitions. Windows Vista data recovery utility can also be used to specifically retrieve deleted documents or lost data from Vista hard drives. And this application is also useful to rescue files from unregnized USB drive and memory cards on Windows 7 computer in few simple steps.
